We get better at what we
work on. No kidding. I am Captain Obvious. Still, I think we forget, so it’s worth
saying.
We are not going to get
stronger without trying to lift heavier weights. We are not going to get faster without working
high-intensity intervals. Flexibility
will not magically appear unless we continue to stretch and roll.
When we choose our
workouts, we need to keep this in mind.
We need to train for what we want.
Maybe that is as simple as wanting to go upstairs without getting out of
breath; that means some cardio intervals ahead.
Maybe we’re feeling some back pain from poor posture; Pilates and core
work can help.
